Tanzania’s Stunning Victory in CHAN: Burkina Faso Falls 2–0

 


At the Mkapa Stadium—widely known as a place where opponents rarely leave unscathed—no team escaped unhurt after a dominant performance by Taifa Stars, who defeated the national team of Burkina Faso with a convincing 2–0 victory.

Taifa Stars controlled much of the game, playing with confidence and authority in front of their passionate home fans, who cheered loudly and showed strong belief in their team’s ability to deliver results in Group B.

The first goal came from Abdul Sopu just moments before halftime, giving Tanzania a crucial lead going into the break. The second goal was scored by Mohamed Hussein in the 71st minute, as he finished clinically with a well-placed header, sealing the victory and leaving Burkina Faso with no response for the remainder of the match.
